While there is no “catch” in the traditional sense (e.g. “free for now but paid eventually”), there are some things we’d like to make you aware of. First, our free website option does not provide a user-friendly, self-service method of editing your website. Modifying the website requires changes to the source code, meaning it’s difficult for the average user to make changes.

Additionally, IODEV adds a snippet onto your website referencing our website and name (e.g. “Built by IODEV”). In good faith, if you truly don’t want this small snippet of IODEV branding on your site, we do allow you to opt-out of this.

Lastly, all our free programs are offered because we want to be the first company that comes to mind whenever you ask yourself “Who could help me with technology?”. If you ever know of a friend or colleague who could use our help, we would hope that you would refer them to IODEV! :)

First, you must not already have an existing website (unless it’s just a simple landing page). We offer this service first-and-foremost to those who are not yet online. We strive to bring more people onto the World Wide Web. Additionally, you must be a registered small business or non-profit. Lastly, please keep in mind that this service may or may not be available depending on our backlog of open projects. You may be added to a wait list, or if we are at capacity, may be denied this service.

It really depends on how quickly you can work with us. In many cases, we can launch a website in as little as a couple weeks. In most cases, you can expect the website development process to take anywhere from a couple weeks to 2-3 months.

All you have to do is pay for a domain (if you haven’t already). Domains typically cost between $10-$20 per year. We recommend using NameCheap.com to buy your domain as we’ve had many good experiences with their service as a domain registrar.

While we offer this service for free, we do take payments if you feel compelled to pay us for our time. This is completely up to you. Any donations or payments are much-appreciated, and further helps IODEV in its mission to help small businesses and non-profits.
